A Monday Morning Field Guide — and a Prayer List
1. The Micromanager Needs to approve your lunch order. Cc’d on emails you sent to yourself. Lord, give them the gift of letting go.
2. The Credit Thief Your idea. Their presentation. Their promotion. Lord, remind them that integrity outlasts applause.
3. The Invisible Boss Never available. Never accountable. Somehow always present when things go wrong. Lord, call them back into the room.
4. The Mood Ring You check the weather before you check your email. Monday could be anything. Lord, give them peace that does not depend on circumstances.
5. The Meeting Hoarder This could have been an email. This could have been a text. This could have been nothing. Lord, redeem their calendar.
6. The Favorite Player One person can do no wrong. Everyone else can do no right. Lord, open their eyes to the whole team.
7. The Empty Motivator “We are a family here.” “Give 110 percent.” “You should be grateful for this opportunity.” No raises though. Lord, align their words with their actions.
8. The Idea Killer Every suggestion meets the same wall — “That’s not how we do things here.” Lord, soften what fear has hardened.
9. The Crisis Creator Everything is urgent. Everything is a fire. Everything needed to be done yesterday. Lord, grant them — and their team — peace.
10. The One Who Means Well But… Genuinely good heart. Genuinely bad execution. The most confusing of all. Lord, close the gap between their intention and their impact.
And if you recognized your boss in more than three of these —
that is between you and God.
Pray for them anyway.
