Daily Devotional: One Day at a Time

Matthew 6:34 — “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

Let’s be honest: not worrying about tomorrow is easier said than done. Life has a way of throwing curveballs, and if you’re like me, you’ve probably spent more than a few sleepless nights playing out every “what if” scenario in your head. What if it doesn’t work out? What if I’m not enough? What if I fail?

But here’s the thing about worry—it doesn’t change anything. Jesus knew this. That’s why He told us to let tomorrow worry about itself. Worrying doesn’t add an hour to your life. It doesn’t give you control over the unknown. It just steals the peace and joy that God has for you today.

“Stop. Breathe. Trust.”

Jesus isn’t asking us to have all the answers. He’s asking us to trust that He does. He’s inviting us to live present in this day, this moment, knowing He’s already gone ahead of us into tomorrow.

So today, I’m choosing to take it one step at a time. To focus on what I can do right now and leave the rest in God’s hands. I don’t have to know how this story ends. I just have to trust the One who’s writing it.

And so do you.

Today’s Reflection:
What’s one thing you’re worrying about that you can hand over to God today? What would it look like to trust Him with your tomorrow and focus on the grace He’s given you for today?

A Prayer for Today:
Lord, You know my heart. You know how often I try to carry tomorrow’s weight on my shoulders. Help me to let go of what I can’t control and trust You with my future. Teach me to see the blessings You’ve placed in my life today and to rest in the promise that You have already gone ahead of me. Amen.
