“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
— Joshua 1:9

Some weeks feel heavier than others. The kind of week where you’re just trying to keep your head above water, navigating the chaos of gas prices, headlines, and the quiet hum of anxiety that seems to follow you around.

And yet, here you are. Friday morning. Still here. Still showing up.

Joshua 1:9 is one of those verses that meets you right where you are—whether you’re standing at the gas pump, sitting in an uncomfortable meeting, or waiting on a breakthrough that hasn’t arrived yet. It’s not just a command to be strong and courageous; it’s a promise.

God doesn’t say, “Be strong and courageous because you’ve got it all figured out.” He says, “Be strong and courageous because I am with you.”

Wherever you go.

To the office. To the grocery store. To the place where you’re still waiting for the answer, the opportunity, or the peace that feels just out of reach. He’s already there.

The truth is, courage doesn’t always look like charging into battle or making bold moves. Sometimes, courage looks like quietly showing up again. It looks like paying the bills, having the hard conversations, and trusting that God is working even when you can’t see it yet.

So today, let this verse remind you that you don’t have to carry it all on your own. You don’t have to solve every problem or fix every situation. You just have to keep showing up, trusting that God is walking with you through whatever this season holds.

Prayer for Today:
Lord, thank You for the promise of Your presence. Help me to be strong and courageous, even when life feels overwhelming. Remind me that You are with me wherever I go, and give me the strength to keep showing up, trusting You in the process. Amen.

Reflection:
What’s one area of your life where you need to lean into God’s promise today? Take a moment to pray and invite Him into that space. He’s already there, waiting to walk with you.
