Galatians 6:9 says, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Some days, doing good feels like planting seeds in dry ground. You show up. You work hard. You pour yourself out. And yet, you don’t see much in return. You wonder if it’s worth it. You question if anyone notices. You start to feel the weight of weariness creeping in.
We’ve all been there. The moments when the work feels endless and the results seem invisible. When you’re tempted to pack it up, walk away, and let someone else handle it.
But here’s the truth: the work you’re doing matters.
The kindness you show matters. The effort you’re putting in matters. The prayers you pray matter. The way you love your family, serve your community, and stay faithful to what God has called you to—matters. Even when you don’t see the fruit right away.
This verse reminds us that the harvest is coming. Not on our timeline, but on God’s. And here’s the thing about harvest—it doesn’t happen the moment you plant the seed. It takes time. It takes patience. It takes trust.
When you plant a seed, you don’t see what’s happening beneath the surface. You don’t see the roots growing down deep. You don’t see the process that’s taking place in the hidden places. But that doesn’t mean the seed isn’t growing.
God’s timing is perfect. He sees the end from the beginning. He knows the purpose behind every good thing you do. And He promises that at the proper time, you will reap a harvest—if you don’t give up.
So, what does that look like for you today?
Maybe it’s staying faithful in a relationship that feels one-sided. Maybe it’s continuing to work hard at a job where you feel unnoticed. Maybe it’s showing up for someone who doesn’t seem to appreciate it. Maybe it’s persevering in prayer for something you’ve been asking God for, even when it feels like He’s silent.
Whatever your “doing good” looks like today, know this: God sees you. He sees your faithfulness. He sees your effort. He sees your heart. And He is working behind the scenes, in ways you can’t always see, to bring about the harvest He has promised.
Don’t give up. Keep planting those seeds. Keep trusting His timing. Keep doing good.
The harvest is coming.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the reminder that You see my efforts, even when I feel unseen. Help me to keep going, to keep doing good, and to trust You with the timing of the harvest. When I feel weary, strengthen me. When I feel discouraged, remind me of Your promises. I know You are faithful, and I trust that You are working even when I can’t see it. Help me to stay faithful to the work You’ve called me to do, knowing that You are always faithful to finish what You start. Amen.
Keep going today. Don’t give up. You’re planting seeds that will grow into something beautiful in His time.
