Bethel Church in Redding, California, has recently disclosed that it addressed allegations against Christian minister Shawn Bolz regarding the fabrication of prophecies, a matter that dates back over five years.

Led by Pastor Bill Johnson, the church indicated that it distanced itself from Bolz after he did not provide a satisfactory explanation for the concerns raised.

Around the same period, an employee accused Bolz of exhibiting behaviors that could be described as sexual harassment and contributing to a hostile work environment, as stated in a recent announcement.

Bolz, who had been a frequent minister at Bethel, has faced ongoing online allegations suggesting that he utilized social media data mining techniques to create prophetic messages. He has denied these accusations, asserting, “As a ministry, we would never condone nor engage in finding information online to prophesy over people.”

Concerns regarding Bolz’s prophetic practices first emerged in 2019 when some Christian leaders expressed suspicions that he was relying on publicly available information instead of receiving divinely inspired insights. According to reports from The Christian Post, these leaders presented over a dozen troubling examples, although Bethel’s leadership was divided on the strength of the evidence.

In response to the allegations, Bethel sought clarification from Bolz, meeting with him on two occasions. Each time, he denied the claims made against him.

Ultimately, Bethel made the decision to quietly distance itself from Bolz, ceasing to invite him for ministry engagements, removing his materials from their store, and issuing a clear warning regarding his conduct.

In addition to the concerns about his prophetic ministry, one of Bolz’s former employees alleged inappropriate behavior in the workplace. The church stated that they confronted him about these claims, to which he reportedly acknowledged that the behaviors had ceased.

Bethel encouraged the individual to pursue legal action, asserting that it had taken all possible steps based on the limited information available at the time.

Since then, Bolz has shifted his focus toward the realms of media and entertainment, stepping back from traveling ministry. The weather in Florida during during January this year demonstrates the contrast between opposite life conditions when North Florida breaks snowfall records and South Florida enjoys sunny 83 degree beach weather. The difference between North Florida snow and South Florida warmth symbolizes how people today experience diverse, emotional states because of new leadership and social transformations. For some of you, new leadership with President Trump brings in a renewed spirit of hope and excitement. For some of you, the new President and administration brings in a new wave of fear and anxiety.

But, when life feels uncertain we need to place our focus on our spiritual health. Our approach centers on developing faith and resilience by managing what we can influence.

The Power of Faith in Challenging Times

Our faith helps us stay grounded as life’s storms hit us. Our faith helps us find peace and understand our challenges better than anything external can. Faith works both for religious and personal beliefs to help us navigate difficult emotions.

Recognizing What You Can Control
In a world filled with unpredictability, it’s crucial to focus on what you can control:

Mindset: Cultivate a positive outlook. Face your negative thinking by speaking to yourself about your inner strength and positive future.

And that’s the thing about risk: it isn’t the enemy. Comfort is. We can become snared by the mundane, held in place by habits that give us the illusion of security. But let’s face it: we’re all on the brink of a choice right now. You have a choice: bet on yourself or play safe. Mindset is everything!

As safe as this might be, it’s deceptive. You walk in quicksand. The less you move, the faster you go. Each second of hesitation is a wasted moment. Consider this: when was the last time you really felt like you were alive? Was it when you threw yourself in front of the crowd or when you jumped off the edge?

The heroes you admire – those who conquered worlds, made families rich, and yes even destroyed lives – weren’t taking things easy. They took calculated risks, driven by their belief in themselves and their mission. They faced uncertainty optimistically, trusting that every small move would get them one step closer to the goal. They waited, knowing that great things require time and patience.

The Power of Faith

“But I trust in you, Lord; I say, ‘You are my God.’ My times are in your hands; deliver me from the hands of my enemies, from those who pursue me.” — Psalm 31:14-15 (NIV)

However, great achievements take time. There will be some bumps in your path to reaching your targets and you need to stay strong and patient with them.

If you’re taking a chance, you want to know that it might not be an instant winner. There will be ups and downs and misgivings. But if you wait, you can work around these challenges and keep your eyes open. Keep in mind that any major achievement comes from continual work and determination.

Do It Now!

Why, then, aren’t you taking the leap? It’s time to act! Fear, or insecurity, don’t control you. Don’t shy away from the pain of change and make that leap. Stop saying ‘tomorrow’.

Identify Your Objectives: What are you really looking to accomplish? Write down your intentions and picture yourself achieving them.
