What If God Is Waiting on the Step You Refuse to Take?Stop Waiting to Feel Ready.

A Monday morning truth for every single person who woke up today thinking, “Nope.”

Let’s talk about this Monday morning, shall we?

You don’t feel ready. You’re not motivated. You’re staring at your coffee like it’s supposed to be magic, but instead, it’s just reminding you that caffeine can only do so much. The week is already glaring at you with its endless to-do list, its relentless demands, and somewhere between the alarm clock and now, the energy you were counting on just… didn’t show up.

So, here you are. Waiting.

Waiting to feel ready. Waiting for confidence to magically appear. Waiting for motivation to kick in before you take the step.

And here’s the kicker—that feeling you’re waiting for isn’t coming.

It never was.

God has known that since the beginning.

We Think We’re Waiting On God

How many times have you said it?

“I’m just waiting on God.”

And sometimes that’s true. There are seasons where the waiting is real—when you sit still, trust the silence, and believe that He’s working behind the scenes.

But let’s be honest for a second.

Sometimes we’re not waiting on God. Sometimes God is waiting on us.

Waiting on us to take the step we already know we’re supposed to take. Waiting for us to stop overthinking, stop procrastinating, and stop trying to time our obedience perfectly. Waiting for us to stop holding out for some magical moment when we feel ready, confident, or inspired.

Spoiler alert: that moment isn’t coming.

The tables flip more often than we’d like to admit.

God Has Never Waited for “Ready”

Let’s take a quick look at God’s track record, shall we?

Moses? He straight-up told God, “I can’t do this. I can’t speak. I’m not the guy. Send literally anyone else.”

God said, “Go anyway.” Moses went. The Red Sea parted.

Gideon? He introduced himself to God as the least of the least. Weakest tribe, smallest family, wrong guy entirely. God called him a mighty warrior before he even picked up a sword. Gideon moved anyway. The battle was won.

Peter? Oh, Peter. This guy told Jesus, “Look, I’m a mess. I’m too broken. You don’t want me anywhere near this mission.”

Jesus said, “Follow me anyway.”

Not one of them felt ready. Not one of them waited for the feeling. And guess what? God moved every single time.

The pattern isn’t: Feel ready, then go.

The pattern is: Go, and watch what God does with your step.

Motivation Comes After Movement

Here’s a truth about motivation that nobody wants to hear on a Monday morning:

It doesn’t show up first. It shows up later.

You don’t wake up feeling motivated and then start. You start, and then—somewhere around ten minutes in, when hesitation gives way to momentum—the motivation shows up.

The feeling isn’t the starter pistol.

Your decision is.

Right now, at this exact moment, God isn’t waiting for you to feel like you’ve got it all together. He’s not waiting for you to feel confident, inspired, or fully rested. He’s not waiting for you to have all the answers or a perfectly mapped-out plan.

He’s waiting for your yes.

This Is Your Monday Morning Yes

You woke up today.

That’s not nothing. That’s everything. Another day. Another chance. Another opportunity to show up for the life, the calling, and the work that has your name on it.

You don’t have to feel ready for it.

You just have to show up for it.

Moses didn’t feel ready when he stood in front of the burning bush. He showed up anyway. And history changed.

You don’t have to change history today.

You just have to take the next step.

God never waited for ready.

Neither should you.

Happy Monday. Now go do the thing.
