Daily Devotional: The Long Road of Doing Good

Some days, doing good feels like planting seeds in barren soil. You show up, you work hard, you pour yourself into what’s right—and yet, the results seem invisible.

It’s easy to grow weary, isn’t it?

We live in a world that celebrates instant results. If something doesn’t happen quickly, we’re tempted to ask, “What’s the point?” But Galatians 6:9 reminds us that God’s timing doesn’t follow the world’s schedule.

“In due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”

Due season.

Not today. Not tomorrow. But at the right time—the time God has appointed.

The Promise of the Harvest

The work you’re doing—the kindness you’re showing, the sacrifices you’re making, the love you’re pouring out—it’s not wasted.

Every act of faithfulness is a seed planted in the soil of eternity.

You may not see the fruit right away. You may not see it this week or even this year. But God promises that the harvest will come.

And here’s the thing about God’s harvest: it’s always worth the wait.

Do Not Give Up

The hardest part of doing good isn’t the work itself—it’s the waiting.

It’s trusting that the seeds you’re planting will grow, even when you can’t see them.

It’s believing that the small, unseen acts of kindness matter, even when they seem insignificant.

It’s holding onto hope when the world tells you to give up.

But God’s promise is clear: “In due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”

So keep going. Keep planting. Keep trusting.

The harvest is coming.

A Prayer for Today

God,

Thank You for reminding me that the good I do is never wasted.

Help me to keep going when I feel tired, discouraged, or invisible. Teach me to trust Your timing, even when I can’t see the results.

Give me the strength to persevere, the faith to believe in Your promises, and the courage to keep planting seeds of kindness, love, and faithfulness.

I know the harvest is coming—because You are faithful.

Amen.

Today’s Reflection

What’s one area of your life where you feel weary or discouraged?

Think about the seeds you’ve been planting—the acts of kindness, the quiet sacrifices, the moments of faithfulness.

Hold those up to Galatians 6:9.

The harvest is coming.

Don’t give up.

Keep planting. Keep trusting.

Because in due season—God’s season—you will reap.

And it will be worth it.

Happy Tuesday.
